Winter Light Glows – 10/1/26

Winter light glows. Add stunning Canadian mountains, the T019 matriline and a sea lion hunt, and you have a recipe for an epic pictorial of nature in action.

Hunts of this nature often evoke conflicting feelings within. I’m in awe and wonder of the power of these apex predators, but seeing their prey flee in fear often leads me to moments of sympathy and sadness.

It was humbling to witness nature at its most majestic in so many ways.

This compellation of pictures takes you through the hunt and ultimate demise of the sea lion.

You will also see the bounty of the sea lion feeding the gulls that gathered for their share.

Whales:

T019 Nootka b.~1965

T019B Galiano b.1995

T019C Spouter b.2001

BCY1108 Mogul (I called them money because they fluked on every dive, so we all got the money shot. )

Images are both zoomed and cropped.
