Whale Watching in Antarctica – 29/1/22

Whale watching from a larger ship down in Antarctica is very different to what I have been used to working in other parts of the world. The whales look so much smaller, but you get a grand view of this incredibly special place with whales as a foreground.

We have seen many humpback whales as we journey around the Antarctic peninsula. There has been some surface feeding but mostly they have been diving down to feed.

Here are some photos from a stunning evening in the Gerlache Straight spent with multiple groups of humpbacks.
