Orcas LOVE bad weather.
Today, we found several groups of orcas next to a commercial herring vessel.
Some orcas enjoyed the big waves after a few stormy days, instead of hanging around the fishing vessel.
They were breaching into the waves and accelerated to be able to ride them.
It was so cool to see orcas use such speed. You can see a photo of 5 orcas speeding with the waves all at the same time.
Certainly, a behavior young ones mimic from their older group members.
