Today I had the most incredible grey whale encounters of the season with a trio I have been referring to as the three amigos.
They have been displaying a stunning amount of (rare) surface behaviors and socialization, including breaching, headstands, rolling, and lunging through the water.
So far two of the three whales have been identified (CSG 1012 and CSG 9 “Shark”).
I am looking forward to finding out who the third individual is!
This behavior spread itself over two days and three trips for me and I am excited to see if it continues!
