T046B2 “Akela,” born in 2008, playing around in the kelp! This was such a beautiful experience, watching a family of 8 killer whales all playing in the kelp together. I have wanted a shot like this for a very long time and I couldn’t be more pleased knowing that it happened with my favourite matriline and, more so, a whale with whom I’ve shared many of my best moments on the water with.
