Sunset Whale Watching – 23/8/24

This afternoon was truly special and a reminder that peak season is now in full swing.

At the start of the trip, we weren’t sure which direction to head—north, south, or east. After some deliberation, Captain and Naturalist Brooke decided to steer us north, and it turned out to be the perfect choice. What followed was one of the most memorable trips of the year.

There were moments of pure magic as we witnessed majestic whales displaying a variety of behaviors. It was an emotional experience for many on board, with some even moved to tears of joy.

The whale breached and tail-slapped more than 30 times, offering everyone a breathtaking view of its playful nature. This is what makes whale watching so exciting—you never know what you’re going to see, and when it happens, it’s an experience you’ll never forget.

Families on the boat were thrilled, and as we cruised home at sunset, the excitement was palpable. We received so many heartfelt thank-yous from passengers who had their dreams of seeing a whale fulfilled. The journey back was equally beautiful, as we passed by the stunning coastline with views of Long Branch, Deal, Asbury Park, historic homes, the Bradley Beach boardwalk, and the beaches of Avon and Belmar. The sunset over the water was the perfect end to a perfect day.
