Sometimes, we can encounter orcas that are cruising close to shore.
It is usually a feature for seal-eater orcas that can be found near shore in rocky areas looking for seals. It can also happen in Norway or a highly known area for seal-eaters in the Northern part of Scotland.
However, fish-eater orcas can still decide to scout the shallower, rocky areas of a fjord, where the herring might look for shelter.
Both today and yesterday, we met a group cruising close to shore.
Today, the group was in a calm bay with an almost flat sea, and you can see that the orcas are swimming in the reflection of the trees. I like how those images turned out to be.
Several groups of orcas were around today. It is a full moon, so we eagerly await what tomorrow will bring.
Enjoy!
