Porpoise Watching from the Golden Gate Bridge – 21/2/20

Friday, February 21 was a beautiful day out on the Golden Gate Bridge. Soon after we arrived, we spotted some seabirds and a California Sea Lion.

As we got closer to the center span of the bridge, we also started spotting Harbor Porpoises.

One of them had a large scar on its flank.

Some of the porpoises were feeding, evidenced by their underwater acrobatics.

We also spotted a couple of mating events.

There were also harbor seals in the area, including one who had caught a large fish and ate it at the surface.

There were reports of a Gray Whale in the bay, but it was farther east towards Tiburon.
