Phenomenal Bigg’s (Transient) Encounter! – 26/8/15

Pretty phenomenal encounter with Transients today.

T102 and T137A swimming loops around the group of tail slapping, raspberry blowing, spyhopping juveniles and matriarchs.

The lone, cryptic and mysterious nature of these guys was stripped away for brief while to reveal an intimate, social side to their nature. Incredible vocals ringing through the hydrophone, and fins everywhere! I was able to get a video of some of the social interactions (follow the link here)

There was at least 19 whales including T36, T36Bs, T99s, T100s (without 100Bs), T101s, and T137s
