Orcas & a Rainbow – 11/8/25

Well, we had a day that will mark one of our BEST days out at sea with orcas.

We were entirely alone with the animals; they were not chased, and we had an unforgettable encounter.

We have found the gold in the pot at the end of a rainbow.

At the beginning of the tour, we met a young solitary humpback whale.

The animal was quite social and made a few pectoral fin slaps, giving us a superb view of the hard shells growing on their pectoral fin.

Towards the end of the trip, we bumped into orcas.

I must admit we had stayed almost an extra hour on the trip.

The orcas were so playful, jumping around the boat everywhere.

They seemed happy to see us and put on a terrific presentation on how orcas can jump.

There was no animal that did not jump, females, young ones, and fully grown males. There was a double breach right by the boat.

I have never seen orcas socializing like this before….

They jumped in all sorts of formations all around, next to and behind the boat.

Not sure who was screaming more, the guests or us.

It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Enjoy!
