We were on our way to another group of killer whales today when we received a report that a lone killer whale was a few short minutes from the city of Victoria.
It turned out to be T124C, a 26-year-old male, who has been kicking around since the beginning of January. Although he’s small (for adult male killer whale standards!), he still needs a lot to eat, as he readily demonstrated this afternoon. He was a challenge to track with his extreme zigzagging dive pattern, so we left in search of other wildlife including seals, sea lions and bald eagles
