Monterey Bay has plenty of nutritious eats for these humpbacks, and that was certainly the case today!  The individuals pictured and a few others were working as a group to get lunch. This group of humpbacks would drive their food up to the surface and lunge up out of the water. With mouths wide open, they are able to catch many fish at once. And, as you can see, many others benefited from this type of hunt! The birds and seals made sure to stay close by to capitalize on this opportunity! This was an experience I won’t soon forget❤️
