I’ve been in Australia for several days now, been out on lots of boats and was certainly feeling a bit defeated as far as what I deemed successful images. On the final trip today, the seas were as smooth as glass, the moon was full and the sky exploded into the most spectacular and pastel rainbow sherbet colors I’ve ever seen.
Then, magic happened… This amazingly beautiful whale exploded out of the water juxtaposed against the most vibrant backdrop I’ve ever witnessed on the water.

I can’t thank my buddy @glegmo from @wildbyronseasafaris for going above and beyond, chasing the last of the light for this amazing opportunity. Sometimes I have to remind myself that you’ve just got to push through the frustration of missed shots and if you’re lucky, and ready, it all works out.
