On a morning whale watching trip our of Monterey Bay there were around 35 whales in the water.  A  group of three surfaced and this one made a bee line towards the boat right after surfacing.  It stayed about 6 feet away  and then  turned around to rejoin its group.  No spyhopping but he sure was interested in us
