Double Header with Bigg’s (Transient) Killer Whales and J Pod – 17/4/16

Pretty sure this is my first time seeing the T011’s. They’re infamous for being part of the minke whale kill that happened in Ganges Harbour back in 2002. (Read more here!)

One of my favourites from today! J35 in the lead and J31 just surfacing. This after a cool encounter with the T46B’s, T46C2 and T11’s.

Love that chin clip on J31!

I got reunited with J pod this afternoon! Here is J35 “Tahlequah” in the lead with J31 “Tsuchi” exploding through the surface behind. Always nice to catch a shot with mount baker in the background.

Pretty epic day. Got to see the whole gang…J2 “Granny” was just ahead of these guys and earlier in the day we got the T11s, T46Bs and T46C

It was so good to see the Jpod this is the first bit of news or photos that I have seen this season and very very little last season they seem to look healthy enough
are they feeding well and doing well in general? J pod are my favorite of all the Killer whales I have been following them for years and just love to know that they are ok
thank you so very much for sharing your wonderful photos
