Southern Resident

The Southern Residents are typically found in the Salish Sea between the Southern waters of British Columbia and the Northern tip of the Oregon Coast. They are divided into three pods, J, K, and L, all of which are separated into matrilines. Culture is extremely important to these animals and is passed down from mother to offspring teaching them everything they need to know from vocalizations to hunting techniques.
