We finally managed to get back out on the water here in west Iceland with a small number of passengers, after over six months of no tours.
In the deep water of Breiðafjörður we encountered our first group of orcas milling around.
Not far away was another group coming up close together as they travelled.
One spy-hopped, sticking its head out.
On our way back towards land we encountered an area with at least six more groups of orcas, so many we did not manage to watch all of them and get photo IDs of all individuals for research.
It was wonderful to be back on the water again after so long away due to covid.
