An awesome trip with a big mixed groups of J’s, K’s and L’s including the newest one, L122.

L122 with L91
L91 “Muncher” with L122

The vocals were insane! Especially at sunset….it was a pretty surreal setting sitting at Sand Heads at sunset with whales everywhere squawking away……man, are we lucky to have the opportunity to do this every day.  We spent all day with the majority of the Southern Residents in the Strait of Georgia. Sunset trip with the staff was the highlight though!     Whale watching is just so awesome in the fall here. You just can’t beat that kind of light at sunset! One of the best nights I’ve ever had last night. I got to spend all day with almost all the southern residents until the sun finally set.

L55 and L118
L55 “Nugget” with her youngest, L118 “Jade” born in 2011. These guys were cruising up the Strait of Georgia on their way to the Fraser River. Love getting shots with Mount Baker in the background!
J27 with breach
Here is a half breach with J27 “Blackberry” in the background. This was right outside the Fraser River close to Vancouver.
