Another Amazing Interaction with New Zealand Killer Whales! – 27/1/15

It’s raining black and white in New Zealand! We found the same group of Killer Whales again today!!

A lot of foraging, presumably on sting rays in the shallows. After a few successful kills, they were on their way and started heading towards us!

It’s amazing how similar the behavior is to the Bigg’s (Transient) Killer Whales in the Pacific Northwest. Similar group structure, dive patterns and social activity. It’s been a huge privilege to get to spend time with these animals…..this is a pretty cool place!

    enjoyed seeing orcas in another part of the world…..Biggs are our babies and I only hope the oceans can continue to sustain them.
