I  went on a tour called Orcas and Aurora in Iceland. On the third day, we had some free time. I scheduled a whale watching tour for the free time.

Our hotel was an hour away from the city that the whale watching company was in. In the part of Iceland I was in, there were no taxis or buses on that Saturday. I asked the hotel receptionist if there was a way. He asked his friend, a priest to drive me and the priest said yes.

After getting to the whale watching company, I was so happy. The first tour of the day, my mom and I saw some humpback whales and orcas. It was so many orcas, I didn’t know where to look. The orcas were spyhopping, breaching and tail slapping.

The second tour of the day, we saw humpbacks, orcas and sperm whales!! One of the sperm whales got within 5 feet of our boat and pooped right in front of the boat. The orcas were feeding on herring and then started to play.

This day will go down as the best day I have ever had when whale watching. Orcas are my favorite animal and I got to spend a whole day with them.
