A Whale-Filled Monday on the Jersey Girl – 14/10/24

What a day Monday turned out to be! We ran not one, but two whale-watching trips, and the ocean didn’t disappoint—it was a whale-packed adventure from start to finish, even with the brisk wind and chilly temperatures adding to the excitement.

Our first trip of the day brought out a lively holiday crowd, ready for some marine magic despite the crisp autumn weather. The energy on board was infectious as we cruised along the Jersey Shore in search of these ocean giants. Before long, we spotted not one, but two whales, gracefully surfacing and blowing spouts just off the coast. The sight of these majestic creatures against the backdrop of the cool, windy sea made the morning all the more exhilarating.

The crowd was buzzing, with everyone on board snapping photos and marveling at the whales’ sheer size and beauty. Even with the colder weather, the passengers soaked in every moment of this unforgettable wildlife encounter. There’s something special about seeing whales in their natural environment—it’s the kind of experience that stays with you for a lifetime.

Our second trip was a private charter, giving a smaller group a more intimate whale-watching experience—and boy, did the ocean deliver! As the wind picked up and temperatures dropped further, we ventured out with a sense of adventure, hoping for another lucky encounter. This time, we were greeted by three whales, each one putting on a show that made braving the cold more than worth it.

The whales were playful and active, surfacing close enough for everyone to catch some incredible views. There’s nothing quite like being up close with these ocean giants—the thrill of hearing their breath, seeing their spouts rise against the horizon, and catching a glimpse of a tail fluke as they dive back into the depths. Our private charter guests were blown away by the encounter, enjoying every second of the whale-filled afternoon.

Though the weather was cold and windy, it only added to the adventure, giving everyone on board an authentic autumn whale-watching experience. It’s the kind of day that reminds you just how alive the ocean is, especially when whales are out in full force. And when you’re surrounded by excited passengers and playful whales, the chilly breeze and rolling waves just become part of the fun.

We feel so lucky to have spotted five whales across two trips—a fantastic way to celebrate the holiday and share the magic of the ocean with our guests. Whether it’s a large holiday crowd or a private group, there’s nothing better than witnessing these incredible creatures in the wild.
