CSG14 is a female gray whale with a history in Clayoquot Sound going back to 2003 when she was born.
This week, she has been feeding with CSG11 at a herring spawn site. Both are Pacific Coast Feeding Group whales, meaning they don’t travel north to Alaska but stop for the summer season between Oregon and Vancouver Island.
Many of our PCFG whales will time their return for the herring spawn – a great source of nutrients after a long migration north from Baja!
