Leaving the harbor we spotted our first wildlife, including a harbor seal and a few sea otters. Some of the sea otters had been tagged by researchers at the Monterey Bay Aquarium.
It wasn’t long before we spotted a feeding Humpback Whale. Look for the tiny anchovies coming out of the water.
The whale was lunging and rolling on its side. We also got to see a few fluke dives.
After searching for a while, we responded to reports of Risso’s Dolphins and found a group of a few dozen animals, including some calves.
