Watching any baby discover the world and it’s body is always incredible to see. This calf was so curious and playful — swooping below the surface in between little breaches. I imagine, if I were a whale, that the day I realized I could fully throttle my one ton body out the water would be one of the cooler days of my life. As a human observer, it is definitely one of mine.
It was a short encounter but lovely!
